Air Waybill (AWB)

An air waybill (AWB) is a document issued by the airline or its agent for each air shipment. It serves as the receipt for the cargo, the contract of carriage and the basis for tracking the shipment, and it lists the shipper, consignee, route and number of packages. Unlike a bill of lading, an air waybill is not a document of title and is not negotiable.
