1. Scope of this policy

This policy applies to personal data we receive from you through the Sivan Port website, quote request forms, email, phone and messaging apps.

The Sivan portal (ship.sivanport.com) may have its own additional terms, which apply together with this policy.

2. Information we collect

• Contact details: name, company name, phone number and email address.
• Shipment and order details: origin and destination, type and specifications of the goods, weight and volume, and shipper and consignee details.
• Commercial and customs documents: such as the commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and other documents needed for shipping, customs clearance or insurance.
• Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and cookie information.
• Correspondence: the content of emails, messages and calls you have with us.

3. How we use information

• Respond to your quote requests and enquiries
• Provide freight, customs clearance, cargo insurance and import & export services
• Keep you informed about your order and shipment status
• Improve the quality of the website and our services
• Comply with legal obligations, including towards customs and other competent authorities
• Send newsletters and announcements, only if you have subscribed

4. Legal basis

We process your personal data on the basis of your consent, the performance of a contract or steps you request before entering into one, compliance with our legal obligations and, where the law allows, our legitimate business interests. Processing is governed by UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (PDPL), its executive rules as issued, and other applicable UAE laws. Sivan Port acts as the controller of the personal data collected through the website and the services.

5. Sharing information

Sivan Port does not sell your personal data and does not share it with third parties for advertising purposes. Data is shared only to the extent needed to perform the service, and only with the following parties:

• Shipping lines, airlines and freight carriers
• Customs and other government authorities involved in import, export and clearance
• Insurance companies, if you request cargo insurance
• Our agents, warehouses and partners in the countries of origin and destination
• Courts and law enforcement or regulatory authorities, where legally required

6. International transfers

Because Sivan Port provides international freight between the UAE, Oman, Iran, China and other countries on the route, some shipment data and documents may be shared with carriers, customs authorities and partners in those countries, including our operations office in Bandar Abbas, Iran, solely to perform the service. Transfers are limited to what is needed to fulfil your order and are made in line with the cross-border transfer requirements of the PDPL.

7. Retention and security

We keep your data for as long as needed to provide the services, follow up on orders and meet our legal obligations, including UAE legal retention requirements for commercial and tax records.

Sivan Port applies appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. However, no method of transmitting or storing data over the internet is completely secure.

8. Cookies

The Sivan Port website uses Google Analytics 4, a Google service, for visit statistics. It sets two first-party cookies in your browser on the sivanport.com domain: _ga, which recognises your browser across visits, and _ga_93MNBXXZWD, which keeps the state of your current session. Google Analytics sets their lifetime to two years and by default renews it with each visit, but your browser may shorten it; Chrome, for example, keeps cookies for at most 400 days. You can delete these cookies at any time.

The information sent to Google this way includes the pages you visit, the referring page, your browser and device type, your approximate location and the time of your visit, and it is processed on Google servers, including outside the UAE. The content of form fields is not sent to this service.

In addition, aggregate page performance statistics are collected with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies.

You can block or delete this website's cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them does not affect your use of the website or its forms.

9. Your rights

• Request access to the personal data we hold about you, and a copy in a portable format where applicable
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
• Request erasure or restriction of processing, to the extent this does not conflict with our legal obligations
• Object to processing, withdraw your consent or unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time

10. Users under 18

Sivan Port services are provided to individuals aged 18 or over and to businesses, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.

11. Changes to this policy

Sivan Port may update this policy from time to time. The new version will be published on this page with its update date and applies from the date of publication.
