FAQ
Import FAQ
Do I need a commercial card to import goods?
A commercial card is usually required for commercial imports, and import registration is made in the cardholder's name. Our specialists review your shipment and explain the steps.
How does importing from China differ from importing from the UAE?
The main steps are similar, but the shipping route, ports and transit time differ. The UAE is the closest sea route to Bandar Abbas, while China is a longer route across the Indian Ocean.
What is import order registration and when is it needed?
Order registration is the step where the importer registers the purchase in the relevant system before shipping. The requirements depend on the type of goods, and Sivan Port specialists help prepare the documents.
How are import service costs calculated?
The cost depends on the route, mode of transport, type of goods and the services you need (such as clearance and insurance), and is quoted after we review your request. Customs duties and fees are calculated separately by type of goods.
Can I hand over only clearance or only freight for my imports?
Yes. You can choose freight only, clearance only or the full package of import services.
